It would be cool if we could search for users via their location. State or country.

You can, but many people don't bother to put their location, so those people can't be located that way. But you can go to the user profiles page and make location your search parameter.

i think what she means is typing the location in the edit box... so for example, typing texas for all the people from texas... am i correct?

that's a brilliant idea, i like it a lot

That is just what I mean. Finding the zoners that may live in Washington or in Paris France. Wherever you may be, sometimes it is fun to make internet friends closer to home or in a place that you want to learn more about.

That would be cool, but again, most people dont bother putting their location on their profile, because they prefer everyone not knowing where they're from or they just want to be creative. It's probably best to try and get to know a person and find out where their from, but who knows! Lol!

I think that we should have this search capability. That will mean that anybody who doesn't have a valid city, state/province, and country will have to reenter their location correctly. Or, better yet, we should do away with the location field entirely and represent it as 3 controls: country, state/province, and city. For countries that don't have states or provinces, the state/province control can be made to be not available.

that's a nice idea, tyler. would it be very easy to code?

roflmao, personally, I don't want just any random people knowing where I'm from. It's a matter of safety with me. I don't mind telling people where I'm from once I've talked to them. But just letting random people know where I live and everything, that's just creepy, lol

SEPTEMBER-TWILIGHT, I agree with you. I'd feel comfortable saying the state or the region, then once I get to know someone, I'd probably tell them.

It's fun to know if someone is in the New England area or in Ittally. Or maybe you are looking for someone closer to home, the same state.

tyler, perfect idea, but for those worried, this is a community of blind and visually impaired people, it's not like we are going to come stalk you in the dead of night now are we!! we wouldn't be able to see to get to where you were, let alone cause you any harm.

I'm beyond easy to find. Everyone knows ware i'm from anyway.
I also like your idea, the one ware you put city as an edit field, country as another , and state as a third.
Then you could put that as options to search in the user profiles.
